Cook until softened, about 10 minutes. Bake at 300 degrees f for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Add this to the slow cooker, and cook for an additional 30 minutes, or until thickened.

For an extra saucy stroganoff, increase the flour to 2 tablespoons and increase the beef broth to 1 1/2 cups. Pour over beef stew meat. To the same skillet the beef was seared in, add the butter and flour.

Alternatively, add about 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder to the sauce mixture. If you opted for mushrooms add those in as well. Allow to sit, undisturbed for a couple of minutes then stir and cook.

30 minutes before you’re done cooking mix the 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of cold water. Bring to a boil, cover. Add the sirloin tips, and onion to the dutch oven and cook until beef is browned.
